You should get a build folder if you run \unixos2\lib\buildfolder. In theory each icon should be a buildable object. > Also, should I look at modifying my config.sys so that the system in > general will be using ux2? If so, what should I put in there? No config.sys changes should be required. UX2BS runs in its own shell which means any existing environment should be able to carry on working as before. > So... now if I want to try making some other programs, what's the > overall process I should be looking at? Well just have a look through build.table and pick something. openssl might be a good bet. Some apps depend on the whole of the initial build being successful. Perl is just a part of that initial build, and the chances are that something, such as BYACC did not get built. > Overall, this is pretty slick, in a unixy kind of way:) Yes, the slickness of Unix is the way things 'just happen' without you even noticing it. I'd like UX2BS to work just as automagically, but still needs quite a bit of work. > Thanks! > > -- > ------------------------------------------------------------------- > * Jack Troughton jake at consultron.ca * > * http://consultron.ca irc.ecomstation.ca * > * Kingston Ontario Canada news://news.consultron.ca * > ------------------------------------------------------------------- -- John _______________________________________________ UX2BS mailing list UX2BS at os2ports.com http://os2ports.com/mailman/listinfo/ux2bs **= Email 11 ==========================** Date: Thu, 05 Feb 2004 00:50:49 -0500 From: Jack Troughton Subject: Re: Perl 5.8.3 John Poltorak wrote: > On Wed, Feb 04, 2004 at 06:12:04PM -0500, Jack Troughton wrote: > >>>Good. No, there's a yacc.exe. When I looked through the log, there were no obvious failures. I'm more asking about doing something like getting the sources for some app that's not included in the build system. I did start this off as a way to try porting nmap... >>Overall, this is pretty slick, in a unixy kind of way:) > > Yes, the slickness of Unix is the way things 'just happen' without you > even noticing it. > > I'd like UX2BS to work just as automagically, but still needs quite a bit > of work.
