I know I've rattled off one of these questions a couple times but due to the total lack of response I'm going to assume that there are no publicly available archives of this mailing list available? I know that there were a few programmers out there (ie., some of the Mozilla programmers) that were looking for information we had, but didn't want to join the list itself. Should we look at somehow getting a web archive setup? (I know that even my own archives of this list are far from complete). Not only would it make a dearth of information available, but also show people there is a bit more activity going on than what is simply on the web pages. As far as subscription and subscription-cancelling go for the mailing list, does anyone have the exact steps handy so that I can put them on the website? I can make some guesses about how to go about it, but I'd rather get it right the first time. (Yes, my memory was short and it was now at least a year ago that I joined..!) If anybody can help with this information (or additions and modifications they'd like to see to the web pages), I'd appreciate hearing from them. This should really wait until GCC 3.22 and the new libc are finalized. Right now they are in a state of flux (Alpha) and the EMX build is quite hard. I've been trying on and off for over a year without much success. Dave ps It looks like the new libc will be LGPL and since they are distributing it the source shouldn't be far behind **= Email 3 ==========================** Date: Thu, 31 Jul 2003 23:24:01 -0500 From: Jeff Robinson Subject: Mozilla build script T.Sikora wrote: > Jeff Robinson wrote: > > Could you make a mozilla_build.cmd script for ux2bs? I believe one thing holding me up is that you need the OS/2 Developer's Kit from IBM (it's available from Software Choice and may come with eComStation as well) to completely compile Mozilla... at least I seem to recall that. One of the "issues" with Mozilla is that it is a very large and complicated project and requires very specific tools to get it to configure and compile properly ( http://www.mozilla.org/ports/os2/setup.html ). Though I had suggested using Mozilla as a test-bed simply to see if all our new versions of the tools give output that is compatible. You can look in ftp://os2ports.com/pub/unixos2/ux2bs/build_system/scripts for some example scripts. Basically you want to download the source and depandancies or add them to pub/unixos2/ux2bs/baseline and call it from their unzip, patch, set env then build and install. It probably won't work but at least it will give us something to jumpstart our butts. I think Mozilla is a worthy challenge for ux2bs and we will finally get around to adding gcc to it. -- T.Sikora tsikora at ntplx dot net
