I am sorry, but my memory is too vague to recall the details. I think it had something to do with some XFree stuff. It expected /tmp on the drive from which the program was invoked. As a result, I simply created a \tmp directory on each of my partitions. I do recall that it had nothing to do with the shell. Oh, to have photographic memory. Come to think of it - I do - I need to see a photograph in order to remember anything.
