Is the latest source available via CVS or wherever, or does only Andy have it? If it is not available, do you know whether he is intending to submit the changes to the main line gcc project when the port is completed? I do think that we must get our changes incorporated into the main line if we are to stand a chance of keeping up-to-date. Andy and Stauff did a great job with 3.0.2/3, but those patches don't work directly with 3.3/4. Main line gcc changed significantly at 3.1 and has evolved a lot since then. Nope it's not yet available, Stauff is on the #netlabs IRC channel often and he is in contact with Andy. So we've set it up to be ready when Andy will release the first public beta. I will announce it for sure. 3.0.3 is still at netlabs.org ftp cu Adrian -- Adrian Gschwend at netlabs.org ktk [a t] netlabs.org ------- Free Software for OS/2 and eCS http://www.netlabs.org **= Email 6 ==========================** Date: Thu, 23 Jan 2003 15:18:14 +0100 (CET) From: "Adrian Gschwend" Subject: Re: Gnu Compiler Suite for OS/2 bugtracker On Thu, 23 Jan 2003 09:36:20 +0100 (CET), Dave Parsons wrote: Hi Dave, Yes so far only Andy got it. >If it is not available, do you know whether he is intending >to submit the changes to the main line gcc project when the >port is completed? I guess that would make most sense. They talked about a CVS at netlabs.org too but that would be temproaray until we managed to get the diffs into the official CVS tree of gcc. There are several developers supporting the GCC effort on OS/2 right now so a temporary CVS would make sense for that. As I said there is nothing available yet at the time writing. >I do think that we must get our changes incorporated into >the main line if we are to stand a chance of keeping >up-to-date. >Andy and Stauff did a great job with 3.0.2/3, but those >patches don't work directly with 3.3/4. IIRC the tar for OS/2 has some sort of driver for accessing tape drives and it requires SCSI. I'm not sure that ASPIROUT.SYS would hold the key. Then again I do many backups by zipping my data to a file on our UnixWare box over the LAN and backup with LoneTAR. I also backup by creating CDRW of certain drive areas using SMB shares, mkisofs and cdrecord on Linux so what do I know. ;-) Gene -- +=========================-=>Unix & OS/2<=-=========================+ # Owner and C.E.O. - ERA Computer Consulting - Jackson, TN USA # # eCS,OS/2,UnixWare,OpenServer & Linux Business Computing Solutions # # Please visit our www pages at http://eracc.hypermart.net/ # +===================================================================+ We run IBM OS/2 v.4.00, Revision 9.036 Sysinfo: 40 Processes, 155 Threads, uptime is 4d 5h 8m 33s 279ms
