Can you suggest why I don't need to do this? 

The warnings were produced by someone else.


I've just noticed this in Perl's README.OS2:-


=head2 C<PERL_BADLANG>

If 0, perl ignores setlocale() failing. May be useful with some
strange I<locale>s.


I don't understand what this means. Is it common to find strange locale's?
Is there any downside to setting this variable?

Subject:   AIX for Intel


In case anyone has any antiquated equipment like a PS/2, you may be 
interested in trying IBM's own version of Unix - AIX 1.3 which came out 
for PS/2s around 10 years ago. 

I've never seen this version myself, and it has been withdrawn for many 
years although you can now download it from:-

http://www.ps2.namecube.net/aix

I hope to give it try fairly soon.

finally i got the time to install unixos2-packages. Following the
UX2-GettingStartedHOW-TO the first steps went fine. Unfortunately the
database-entries are not registered in /var/log/packages due to a bug in
installpkg.cmd (IMHO). The OS/2-Copy command ist provided with a
forward-shlashed X:/unixos2 directory entry.

By applying the following patch, everything went fine:

I don't know, but since I added it, warnings has been removed and I'm living (perl) happier.

It got through OK. I had simply forgotten to change a setting in Sendmail 
when I changed my main domain name.

Yes, I hope everyone on the list has a good new year. 

I think we can be very hopefully of getting a really good UnixOS/2 
distribution together next year. A lot of things are falling nicely into
