I found 2 files on hobbes man2txt.zip for converting man pages to text and man11.zip. Is man11 the one people use? It is from 23-Jan-94. I just opened the readme for man11 and discovered I probably need a whole slew of additonal programs to make the os2 unix environment. Would it be possible to make a unix directory structure that was all under one directory? For rsync I've had to make var/run ftp/pub,cvs,incoming, and now, man/man1. Wouldn't it be possible to put all of these under one linuxos2 directory? Where do I find rssync 246. Seems like I've been using ver 255. Just read a message about patches. How do I incorporate the patch into rsync? I found an rsync-minimal.zip for windows which uses ssh and that makes me wonder if I don't need ssh for os/2 also (for the password problems.) I still haven't got an actual transfer of files to work. Just can see the directories and the contents, but after I can read the man files, maybe I can discover what I need to try. **= Email 2 ==========================** Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2002 08:17:28 +1000 (est) From: Andrew MacIntyre Subject: Re: Re: Mailman:'module' object has no attribute 'symlink' On Thu, 12 Dec 2002, Ted Sikora wrote: > Andrew MacIntyre wrote: > > If you can do without archiving, try the attached patch to > > Mailman/mm_cfg.py (Mailman_mm_cfg.py.patch). I've been using IBM's Sendmail for many years, but keep thinking I need to get up to date with all the latest features available. Fortunately we do have a reasonably modern port of Sendmail, which I have been trying to get up and running, but it ends up causing a Trap E in AFOS2.SYS in certain circumstances. This needs to get resolved, but it seems to be almost impossible to do unless you have a TRAPDUMP partition. Effectively, if anything goes wrong in a program, programmers use something like "exit(1)", if it is okay, it terminates with "exit(0)". If they are really ambitious, they might use other non-standard exit codes. sysexits.h is widely ignored in application space. There is no reason not to copy that particular file from Linux into the EMX tree, and also have it in unixos2 later - it doesn't do any damage, and won't cause any incompatibility. URLs matching Python regular expressions can be redirected using regular expression substitution, databases of filename-to-url mappings, alternative config files, or child redirectors. Utilities are provided for generating database files from file archives and config files from adzap patterns. It is primarily useful for redirecting requests to large local FTP archives, but it can also be useful as a top-level redirector that seperates and feeds requests to more specialized child redirectors. I'd like to try and use something like this with SQUID so that I could redirect calls to Hobbes to my own mirror. -- John **= Email 16 ==========================** Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2002 19:28:31 +0000 From: John Poltorak Subject: Re: Dialog On Fri, Dec 13, 2002 at 05:28:44PM +0000, John Poltorak wrote: > There is a new build of Dialog at Hobbes, which is worth looking at:- > > http://hobbes.nmsu.edu/pub/new/dialog-0.9b-os2.zip > > Dialog provides script driven widgets based on NCURSES. I would recommend grabbing it and then running each of the dialogs in the SAMPLES directory through sh.exe just to get a taste of the capabilities of DIALOG. -- John **= Email 17 ==========================** Date: Fri, 13 Dec 2002 19:50:50 +0000 From: John Poltorak Subject: Re: Building Autoconf from original source On Thu, Dec 12, 2002 at 10:20:53PM +0100, Andreas Buening wrote: > John Poltorak wrote: > > Or should I install this version first > > and then run the commands above? > > Normally, only the maintainer needs to run autoconf.
