I have never used this package, and do not know how it is supposed to work, but there was some interest in it a while back, and I decided to play around with it while I have some time available. Before I put it into the incoming directory, I would like to have those who are familiar with the app or those who may want to try it out to use it and give me feedback about how well (or not) it works. It required quite a bit of tweaking of the source, but mostly to work around unix features that Os/2 does not support. Get it here and let me know what you think. http://www.clam.rutgers.edu/~patash/mutt-1.4-os2-beta.zip Pat -- Patrick Ash patash at comcast.net This OS/2 system uptime is 7 days, 04:40 hours and 05 seconds **= Email 3 ==========================** Date: Thu, 08 Aug 2002 14:25:33 +0000 From: Patrick Ash Subject: Re: Mutt 1.4 I used some of it, but many of the modules have been rewritten and some functions moved into other modules. I found it easier just to address problems as they arose, rather than to go into the old code to see how it was handled there. One of the things I found most annoying about the source was the number of hard coded paths that I had to work around. The mail path was a required item, and this was the one that the 0.95 build used. I will try to change it to somehting more generic. One of the OS/2 specific changes I find useful is the use of 20*^H seperators in a mailbox sometimes referred to as MMDF formatted mailboxes. I don't know where they originated but UUPC/2 and elm could handle them and I have mailboxes going back many years in this format so it would be handy to be able to read them. I can't seem t read any msgs, I get an error saying:- Could not create temporary file! when I select a msg from the index. I do have %TMP% defined and there is plenty of free space, so I don't know why I get this error. This mutt uses a hard code mailpath of c:/mptn/etc/mail which doesn't exist here. %ETC% is defined as c:\etc and mailboxes are in c:\var\mail. > Pat > > > On Thu, 08 Aug 2002 19:06:53 +0100, John Poltorak wrote: > > >> It required quite a bit of tweaking of the source, but mostly to work > >> around unix features that Os/2 does not support.
