AFAIAA BIND v4.9.5 included OS/2 support in the base build. Just wondering what it would take to get it into the v8 build... I do realise that the latest version of BIND is v9, but I think v8 is still supported. -- John **= Email 3 ==========================** Date: Sat, 27 Apr 2002 20:34:37 +0100 From: John Poltorak Subject: Re: Building BIND v8.2.4 On Sun, Apr 28, 2002 at 05:12:19AM +1000, IanM wrote: > Hi John > > >Has anyone tried building the OS/2 port of BIND v8.2.4? > bind-8.2.4-os2.zip BIND v8.2.4 (Second edition) ported to OS/2. Ported by > Antonio Sanmarti. - Link Yes, I know it has been ported, I just wondered if anyone else had tried building it. It's often the case that a porter is able to build his own port effortlessly, but no one else is able to do it, because there is some vital ingredient is missing which only the porter has, but assumes everyone else has too. I'd like to try and identify why NAMED doesn't listen on all available addresses, and if I figure it out, I'd like to try and fix it. The standalone code which NAMED uses for getting the available addresses is here:- http://www.mork.no/~bjorn/iflist.c There is also a compile binary available. The code itself looks short enough... > IanM -- John
